Killing 150 kids is a crime against humanity. 3 times in the past 6 years, the state of Israel has launched military assaults on the people of Gaza. Each time there has been massive civilian casualties. Many of them children. In the past couple of weeks Ive seen several people trying to justify this. Including people for whom I previously had respect. Well, Im sorry, but your justifications are bullshit. You cant justify killing 150 kids. Its a crime regardless of who does it. Ive been told I need to go to Israel to understand it. Bullshit! If there was any place on earth where, by going to live, would make me Ok with killing 150 kids, I wouldnt consider going there. And there are people protesting in Israel who arent Ok with it either. You cant claim to want peace and at the same time justify this. If your justifications had any merit the other side could also use similar justifications. Its a crime against humanity. I work at a school that has about 300 kids. I look around at the kids playing and think that in the past 3 weeks, the equivalent of half of those kids are dead. All of the others are injured. The killing of the kids sickens me. The attempted justification for the killing sickens me too.
