Kimberly Vitale Dydalewicz asked for a grocery list of mine. They vary only a little. When you are not eating processed or sugary foods you really dont go down very many aisles. So you mostly stay along the perimeters of the store. Here are a few of the staples that I buy each time. On the fruits and vegetables I follow the dirty dozen as far as which to buy organic. Fruits: raspberries, strawberries, lemons and blackberries. Every morning I juice a lemon and have lemon water. Vegetables: broccoli, zucchini, squash, onion, baby spring mix and green beans. (These are great with a little coconut oil and sea salt. Put them in the oven on 400. They come out crisp.) Meats: organic grass fed meats. I usually stick to beef and chicken. Occasionally I might bake pork chops. I do purchase lunch meat for school lunches. It is Simple Truth organic and it is nitrate/nitrite free. Since giving up junk foods my older kids have taken a liking to protein bars. With their busy schedules this is a great snack and a pick me up before practice. I shop at Krogers and their organic brand is Simple Truth. They have many flavors. Zone also has decent protein bars. I also buy KIND bars every week. Our favorite is cranberry almond. I eat these for a snack if I am going to go long periods between meals. If your watching your calories they are 190 calories a piece so eat only one! Each trip I pick up Ezeikel bread and English muffins. These are in the organic frozen section. This is a sprouted bread. They also make tortillas for wraps. We also eat a lot of nuts. When buying these try and buy the raw nuts. Keep away from salted or blanched. As far as chips...you wont find those in our house anymore unless they are Benitos. For oils...I use mainly coconut oil. And...I use it for aloooot of things!!
