Kingwood area robbery/shooting??? I was going to post on the robbery and double shooting that (allegedly) happened around 7AM this morning near Cantrell/Mississippi, but the LRPD Public communications officers email bounced back saying he would be out of town for a few days and that I should email Sgt Cassandra Davis with important questions. I emailed her but never got a response. The police *did* however send out some tweets today though. They sent out two nearly identical tweets about a drug take-back thing thats happening this weekend. Yall getting excited about that? But...BACK TO THE (ALLEGED) ROBBERY/SHOOTING: The report Im hearing is that a woman was targeted after leaving the Simmons Bank ATM near Mississippi/Cantrell. According to my unconfirmed narrative, she was followed back to her apartment at Hidden Valley apartments (Not Valley Heights, Hidden Valley Apts. are hidden behind Shipley Do-Nuts) by an armed man who pushed his way into her apartment. Her boyfriend and the robber fought for a while and supposedly she got hold of a gun and shot the robber in the butt and unfortunately also shot her boyfriend in the arm. Or at least thats the second hand narrative Ive been able to scrounge. It could easily change some tomorrow based on how well informed my source was. Oh, and Im also told that the robber was dropped off at the hospital by somebody, so hes under arrest presumably. Naturally, we wonder if this guy is the same ATM robber from down the street at Foxcroft. I dont know. If only the police would fill us in a little that would be great. Forgive me if this narrative turns out to have tubs of errors. Didnt have much to work with. Update tomorrow.
