Kiran Bedi to visit Jammu and Kashmir on 27th May =>Dr Kiran Bedi, first Woman Indian Police Service (IPS) Officer of India would visit Jammu and Srinagar (J&K) on 27th May to inaugurate “Aryans JK Scholarship Mela” being organized by Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh. In a statement issued here, the Director of Aryans Group, A P Jain said: “Dr Bedi would also distribute Scholarship Letters to selected students on the occasion. Aryans has launched a special Toll free helpline No. 1800-30000-388 for the needy and deserving students of J&K who are interested in getting scholarship.” While giving information, he said “Aryans JK Scholarship Mela” is for the deserving students who are not financially strong. He added that under this scheme, scholarships are given purely on Merit-cum-Means basis and it will be partially funded by the Bank, partially by the Student and partially by College. He added that students selected under scholarship would study in different courses like B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, BBA, BCA, BA, B.Com, B.Ed, Nursing, Polytechnic, +1(Non Medical) etc. Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group said that 4 years back, Dr Bedi selected some needy students at Aryans campus who were not able to pay study expenses. Those students after completing their courses at Aryans got placed in reputed companies. He added that the success stories of those students motivated us to continue with the same Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Project for coming years also. “Today higher education has become very costly and is out of the reach of the common man. Due to which, many meritorious students also leave their studies in between. Aryans and Dr Kiran Bedi have come forward with a try to fulfill the dreams of needy but deserving students to study higher,” he said. He further said that more than 700 Jammu and Kashmir students are studying at Aryans in various courses. “Aryans has become the Hot Spot for JK students for Education. He added that this year, around 300 students will be taken from JK to make Aryans an Educational Group with largest number of JK students. He further said that last year also in the month of January, Dr Kiran Bedi visited Jammu and Srinagar for Aryans events and selected students for scholarship,” he added. (GNS)
