Kishan Sanmilan in Hojai organised by Dist BJP Kishan Morcha today 16 Nov. Nearly 1000 farmers participated in the day long workshop. The inaugural session was addressed by Rajen Gohain, MP, Pankaj Pathak, State President, Kishan Morcha, Dr Pradip Thakuria, Shiladitya Dev, Uttam Das, Sanjib Dutta, Samir Sarkar, Irabot Singh, Pranjal Roy, Gunadhar Das, Pujan Sarkar, Rajesh Choubey, Rajib Ghosh etc. During the technical session officials from various govt departments like Agriculture, Irrigation, Forest and Wildlife, etc explained the various scientific methods for better crop production. The delegates had a question and answer session with the officials. The farmers pointed out that the agriculture in Hojai Sub division is in deplorable condition due to lack of proper irrigation facility and other departmental support. The Man animal conflict also poses a threat to the crops since during harvest period the crop is damaged by wild elephants and the forest department is unable to prevent. Certificates were also given to the delegates.
