Kishore Da demanded for a bicycle...in the recording room.... ...In order...to enact with the feel of a Post-man!...read this...!!! Laxmikant ji narrates an interesting anecdote about the Legendary Singer Kishore Kumar and the making of the song Daakiya Daak Laya....!!! Kishore Da..would enjoy the great advantage over all the other singers of enacting his songs..recollects Laxmikant ji..from the famous music director duo of Laxmikant-Pyarelal....as he narrates an interesting anecdote about the Legendary Singer Kishore Kumar...We were recording this song from the movie..Palkon Ki Chhaon Mein...He heard the song for at least two to three times and then suggested on a narrative rendition..In the rehearsals he sang it with utmost perfection..but still he was not satisfied with the end result..Then he suggested on the rap-pattern of narration in the stanzas. We said he could try it..if that suited the song..So he started...Uhm..Devar ke bhatije ki saali ki sagaai hai...Toh aati puranmashi ko karaar paayi hai.. ..Mama aapko lene aate magar majboori hai...All in one breath...It gave a terrific lift to the song all together..One thing..I would like to tell the readers here that both Kishore Da and Dada Moni ji were well versed with this sort of singing pattern of rap..Dada Moni had done it in the song..Rail Gaadi earlier...We all agreed for this treatment and it was finalized...Next day the song was supposed to be recorded...He came to the studio...and as usual was joking around with everyone in the studio...and when Pyarelal ji called for the take...Kishore Da demanded for a bicycle...in the recording room.. ...In order..to enact with the feel of a Post-man!...All of us were surprised by this strange demand of his..He guessed it quickly on our face and said, Dekho...Pyarelu..situation aisi hai..ki..Hero jo hai...Woh toh post-man hai.. ..Aur post-man paidal toh jaayega nahi khat pahuchane...Toh aap log sirf ek cycle ka bandobast kardo mere liye..Phir barabar mehsoos hoga ke ek post-man kaise khat baatne jaata hoga!...We were shocked to hear that.. as so much accuracy he would always want to be put into the songs...and with such dedication..So a bicycle was brought in..so that..he could prance about the ringing bell on the handlebar while singing...and what an effect that song gave with his enacting...That song was..Daakiya Daak Laya... He had this capacity and ability of lifting the song to another level..Just by his own additions and his own dimensions...Today we miss him so much.. ..as that dedication...that perfection lacks..He would turn the compositions to gold by his mere magical touch...His contribution..was always an added bonus for all the music directors..You dont find such talent every time..Its only he...who could do it with so perfection...He was a true phenomenon! Yes...He was indeed a true phenomenon!..No doubts in the mind about it at all as the Legendary Composer states it...True..Once in a while is such a framework created by God...with so much of perfection and so much of talent endowed upon..No wonder...we still search him everywhere...in all the bits and pieces of slightest information or glimpses...as the mind still is unquenched for the nectar of the golden voice named...Kishore Kumar...!!!
