ATHLETICS On Saturday, 17th January, 2015, the #Anguilla Amateur #Athletic Association hosted its pre-season opener. The event started at 1.45pm due to some passing showers but it did not deter the 55 participating #athletes who participated with much zeal and excitement, proving that the upcoming season should be one filled with top class performances. The most notable performances came from Rechelle Meade, Eveon Claxton, Carlique Julius, Sethreanda Williams and Jamoi Hodge who all sped to triple victories in the #300m, #150m, #60m and #80m respectively. Other athletes who had outstanding performances were Aiden Hazard, Mauriel carty, T-Kailah Richardson, Andaysha Connor, Jenell Smith, Anika Laing, Keante Brooks, Nekoye Phillip, Zianna Richardson, Krystal Philbert, Teandra Gumbs, Frankajah Flemming, Dion Caines, Tyrese Burke , Olinka Harrigan, Lavacia Hodge, Deshawn Hodge, Leeshara Gumbs, Jonicia Richardson, Janique Flemming, Olishalaidlow, Anisa Connor, Mikayla Heyliger, Neshach Gumbs and Deon Vanterpool. Next on the Anguilla Amateur Athletics Associations (AAAA) calendar will be its official season opener, the One #Mile Classic, to be held on Sunday, 25th January, 2015, beginning at 2pm and starts in front of Ashley and Sons #Supermarket. All are welcome to participate, and the registration fee is $1US. The first meet of the AAAA challenge series is on 31st January, 2015, and after that the first major meet of the year, the 2nd Annual #Diamond Classic will be held on 14th February, 2015. Both events are schedule to take part at the JRWP.
