Kiwanis Club of Asheboro seeks contestants for the Miss Randolph County and Miss Randolph County Outstanding Teen Pageants February 2013 (Asheboro, NC)-Kiwanis Club of Asheboro is pleased to announce that the Miss Randolph County Scholarship Pageant Organization is now taking applications for the 2015 Miss Randolph County Scholarship Pageant and the Miss Randolph County Outstanding Teen Pageant. Any young woman between the ages of 13 and 24, who lives, goes to school or works in Randolph, Guilford, Alamance, Chatham, Moore, Montgomery or Davidson County is eligible to participate in the pageants. Executive Director Jenny Parks said, This is an exciting time for this 50-plus-year-old pageant to be coming back to the area and we will celebrate the past and embrace the future! The pageants, which are part of the Miss America Organization, and a preliminary to the Miss North Carolina Scholarship Pageant and the Miss North Carolina Outstanding Teen Pageant, will take place September 20, 2014, at Asheboro High School, with Lane Ragsdale as emcee. Contestants in the event will compete in categories of Interview, Lifestyle and Fitness (Swimsuit), Talent, Evening Wear, and On-Stage Question which will give them an opportunity to express their own interests in social, community service or vocational matters. A scholarship will be awarded to the winner. The winner of the 2015 Miss Randolph County Scholarship Pageant will then represent Randolph County in the Miss North Carolina Pageant held in June of 2015, in Raleigh, NC. Our winner of the 2015 Randolph County Outstanding Teen will travel along with our newly crowned Miss Randolph County and will compete for the title of 2015 Miss North Carolina Outstanding Teen. We would be honored to work with wonderful local sponsors and advertisers, and we extend an invitation for you to join our family of sponsors. Our sponsors have the opportunity to promote their business services and products to the local market through various short and long-term mediums. The Miss Randolph County Scholarship Pageants provides a one-time $1,000 scholarship to Miss Randolph County and a $500 scholarship to the Miss Randolph County Outstanding Teen for use at her institution of choice. An additional $250 Randolph Community College scholarship has been included in Miss Randolph Countys prize package. Your support will ensure the continuation and growth of educational awards to these talented and deserving young women.
