Knight Foundation is hosting a free event tomorrow (Oct. 7) at The Stage from 5:30-7:30pm for their Knight Cities Challenge. The Knight Cities Challenge seeks new ideas from innovators who will take hold of the future of our cities that will tackle the question – “What’s your best idea to make cities more successful?” From Oct. 1 to Nov. 14, 2014, Knight is inviting applicants to share their ideas for making Miami a more vibrant place to live and work. From a pool of $5 million, Knight is looking to award grants across their 26 cities. For more information on the program and application process, visit knightcities.org/index.html. Gehl Architects, a leading urban design firm, will be there to share their experiences in helping to rethink community spaces and shape successful cities across the world. The firm has led acclaimed projects including the creation of bike paths and urban parks throughout New York City, and the redesign of New Yorks Times Square…(and are here taking a look at Miami).
