Knock me over with a feather, because disturbingly, I agree with Denis Shannahans analysis that: Labor is exposed and Palmer United Party can exploit its obstructionism to his advantage. Palmer, on financial advice changes and the carbon tax, and the Greens, on raising the debt ceiling, have demonstrated that Labor can be dealt out of the picture, and the ALP should also be aware that what Palmer says publicly on anything doesn’t necessarily reflect what he is saying to ministers in private. In other words, whilst the WORST of the LNP Tempest MAY be behind us, & the situation with The-Greens may be (somewhat) contained (or at least no worse) Clive is? Exactly, Clive is, shall-we-say, to be managed delicately or ruthlessly as is appropriate at the given time, wouldnt you say? Out of the wreckage of all of this political madness, during which we can, we must & we will rejuvenate, I remain confident that in the medium to longer term we & we alone, will emerge as the only congruent political force able to & capable of governing Australia. Extreme patience & constant vigilance is required, within & without, a sort of Cynical-Idealism perhaps? And our eyes, our eyes must be focused upon the 2020-2023 Horizon, not tomorrows headlines, or even 2016, we have two choices. We can be the wreckage, or we can be, with our 123 Year History, the survivors. I think I know which we will take. There is no alternative but for us to be survivors, because the PEOPLE of whom our party exists to represent, the PEOPLE who made us come to be, these PEOPLE (myself as I write this, not in my future delusions, but as I am now included) depend on it. OK? ~IMC..:) theaustralian.au/opinion/columnists/deal-with-clive-palmer-could-signal-a-change-in-the-coalitions-fortunes/story-e6frg75f-1227049502347
