Know Thyself Have you ever asked yourself the question, “Who - TopicsExpress

Know Thyself Have you ever asked yourself the question, “Who am I”? I certainly have, and it’s something I’ve put some thought into. Let me share something short and powerful with you today. “Know thyself” is a philosophical slogan that was written at the court of Apollo at Delphi and has become something we say commonly today in our search for identity and being grounded in who we are and what we do. But where does our identity come from? They say you become who you hang around…and guess what..it’s TRUE!! We have become who we are today simply by being around friends and family who have shaped us into ourselves and given us our sense of identity. Watch this inspirational video from Toni Robbins. (see below) https://facebook/video.php?v=10152694950399060&set=vb.111783969059&type=2&theater For most of us at some point in our lives we question this and come to a crisis point where everything we have learned and believed must face the harsh reality of the disappointments that life brings in the ever-changing world we live in. For believers there is an often-untapped resource that is really the secret to a fulfilled and joyful life full of purpose and identity. That resource is your personal connection with the Creator. Your Father is the One who gives you your true identity in Him. And guess what…He NEVER changes! Colossian 3:9-10 “Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.” I give you this challenge today. Spend some time with the Father and get real. Tell Him your struggles. Tell Him if you are disappointed with Him. Get real and raw with your emotions. Admit the things you were previously unwilling to admit. Ask Him to help you in your weakness and to reveal the truth of your identity in Him. Ask Him to speak to you. Then pick up a copy of the scriptures and let Him do the talking. And remember, you become who you hang with on a regular basis. So hang with the Father…always. Blessings in Messiah, Dr. Daniel
