Krista wrote--Hello, My father has PAD, and despite 2 bypass surgeries he continued to have major blockages and had an above the knee amputation yesterday. He is 72 years old and is very independent. I worry about his state now that he has lost his leg, and want to make sure he receives the correct care in the hospital and afterward. Can you recommend any books/websites/organizations who might be of support to my dad and I? My dad does not have any family besides me and I live out of state. He does not want to go to a nursing home (I dont blame him) but am not sure what other option he has. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
