Kristi Lloyd made mention in a posting the other day of a MN hunter/farmer and animal rescue business owner who gets it where predators are concerned. Namely, how to live with them harmoniously. It was shared from the Wolves of the Rockies page. I read the article and was compelled to go to the page, like it and send Kathleen a message. This was her response: Thank you, Kristen. The foundation of our organization is shaped by a concept called The Link which, simplified, is the link between the way humans treat animals and how they treat other humans. americanhumane.org/interaction/professional-resources/the-link/ to my board of directors and I, it is only natural that this extend beyond the domestic animals we specialize in to include the environment we are a part of. speaking out in support of non-lethal conflict prevention methods is the right thing to do, as is implementing them as we learn more about them and (further) documenting their effectiveness. we are absolutely committed to this. I do not think it was a coincidence that the very morning the op-ed piece ran in my local paper that I came face to face with two huge wolves in my riding arena shortly before noon. they looked at me, stood for a moment and the one that was inside the fence leaped through and both disappeared into the woods.
