Kurt Cobains daughter Frances Bean produces documentary on father two decades after his death. The first documentary made with the cooperation and support of Nirvana singer Kurt Cobains family will be released in 2015, more than 20 years after the iconic rock stars death. The project is being produced by Cobains daughter, Frances Bean Cobain. Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck was set to focus on the stars life through the lens of home movies, journals and previously unheard music. It was directed by Brett Morgen, the Oscar-nominated filmmaker of 1999 boxing documentary On the Ropes. Cobain committed suicide aged 27 in 1994, before his daughter turned two. His heavily distorted brand of rock music touched on themes including social alienation, and became a cornerstone of Generation X at the time. Nirvana is considered to have sparked the grunge-rock movement, centred in Seattle. The film was produced by Universal Pictures International Entertainment Content Group, which named Frances Bean Cobain as an executive producer. Nirvana was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame earlier this year.
