Kwara PDP guber aspirants sign undertaking ilorin.info/fullnews.php?id=12291 Less than a week to the gubernatorial primary election in Kwara State, aspirants on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, numbering 13 have agreed to accept the result Naof the election and work for whoever emerges as the candidate. However, one of them; Mr Dele Belgore, who was gubernatorial candidate of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, is said to oppose to arrangement, according to the National Mirror sources. The aspirants, including Belgore, had organised themselves into a forum known as Kwara State PDP Gubernatorial Aspirants Forum, KWPDPGF, met on November 24 and prepared a document which they all signed to the effect that they would work for peace throughout the period of elections. Sources said while twelve people signed the document, with Belgore declining on the grounds that he was not present at the meeting where the decision was taken. The delegates, elected during the ward congress on November 1, had been a subject of controversy ever since with accusing fingers being pointed at Belgore and Alhaja Bola Shagaya, who were both alleged to have doctored the lists, particularly, that of Ilorin West Local Government Area. KWPDPG had in its meeting of November 1, however adopted lists for 15 local governments leaving out Ilorin West. The signed agreement, addressed to the PDP National Chairman, through the Senate President, and a copy obtained by National Mirror, reads in part: We the 13 PDP gubernatorial aspirants express our confidence in the said presentation of the list for 15 LGAs as true and authentic. We therefore use this medium to pledge our individual and collective loyalty to the party and the eventual winner of the expected free and fair gubernatorial primary election of December 8. Those who signed were Senators Simon Ajibola, Suleiman Ajadi, Gbemisola Saraki, Deacon John Dara, Arch Kale Belgore, Engr Sunday Babalola and Alhaji Jani Ibrahim Others were Prof Shuaib Oba Abdulraheem, Hon.
