LDS friends (and those interested in the workings of the LDS church) might be interested to know why certain symbols are used on the LDS temples. It was originally derived from Free Masonry, which Joseph Smith was inducted in to the highest order before creating the temple rites (which are strikingly similar to those found in the LDS temples.). Symbols like the all-seeing eye, beehive, handgrips, compass and square: Sources: utlm.org/onlineresources/masonicsymbolsandtheldstemple.htm Some say that Masonry was derived from the LDS priesthood, and not the other way around; however, Freemasonry dates back to the 1700s. The LDS church was founded in 1830 and began using those symbols only after Joseph Smith was inducted. I realize that most LDS people would consider this anti-mormon literature, because they were expressly forbidden to read anything that would cast doubt on what they have been told is the 100% true LDS church, God-approved as Gods living church on the earth today. But--please, realize that research, questioning, the scientific process, and unbiased historical records of events are good. Please educate yourselves and free yourselves from those who would take your money to fund some of the most destructive practices on the earth: namely, the billions of dollars in precious materials (with high embedded energy) to create the LDS temples that destroys our environment--and next, the approval of dogma that teaches Jesus ate animal flesh, and in saying that they should worship this 100% perfect man and follow his ways, that they should do the same (subtle teachings, of course, that have an enormous impact, because their own LDS prophet sets the example, and this is the stuff they serve in the LDS temples.). Eating and purchasing animal products is probably the #1 most destructive thing 99% of LDS followers are doing to the environment, their health, their spirituality, and in causing world hunger. This is true for other religions as well, mind you--but I know of no other religion that promotes eating animal flesh so much in all of their practices, while claiming the opposite, as does the LDS church. What do I mean by the opposite? Well, they point to a section of literature called the Word of Wisdom that says it would please God if they only ate animal flesh in times of winter or famine, and even better if they eat it not at all. This is little more than lip service, as what does the LDS church itself do? Take a look at the stocks that the LDS church owns (Dominoes, Pizza Hut, Burger King, etc., that have the opposite to do with LDS proclaimed values of peace and love, or the Word of Wisdom doctrine--so, peace and love equals murder and rape to animals on artificial insemination racks so their babies can be stolen so another species can drink the milk? Ironically, they even have a girls camp song that sings about this as just silly fun, you know...not to actually make demand for their stocks go up higher while theyre at it. Their ward activities are centered around the use of animal products as perks or incentives for going, including BBQs and animal center piece potlucks. One can say, Well, Karen, is this simply a fault of individual members? Cant one legitimately say the dogma itself is perfect and thats what matters?| I think research will show how Mormonism has changed over time, including LDS temple garment length and temple rite wording (and that symbolic blood oaths, only as far back as 1990, were a common part of the LDS temple rites and are not anymore. Not allowed to talk about that, of course, which is why new members after 1990 dont know about it.). (bibliotecapleyades.net/biblianazar/esp_biblianazar_40.htm) Notice the Codex Sinaiticus is very different from the King James Version. Both have been grossly edited to suit the convenience and political agendas of those editing. A refreshingly honest post that encourages members to engage their critical thinking skills: modernmormonmen/2012/03/financial-transparency-lds-church.html My point is that if you want to be peaceful, and you want to be honest with yourself, you can be an ethical person without falling for a business empire and cult whose tithing use only relegates the tiniest fraction to actual welfare in comparison to what theyre pulling in. What do I mean by actual welfare? What others members are calling it: global emergency disaster relief, food for the hungry, assistance with bills. This amount actually equates to a little less than .0069% of the amount given. LDS profits: ~$7-8 billion per year. Its not hard! Wal-mart donates more than that... forbes/sites/clareoconnor/2014/06/03/report-walmarts-billionaire-waltons-give-almost-none-of-own-cash-to-family-foundation/ And theyre tax-exempt in every area. Im not sure Ive ever seen a more clever pyramid scheme!
