LEARNERSHIP 18.2 DIESEL or RIGGER or PLATER/WELDER (Patterson Grading: AA) Applications close on: 28 July 2014 (Definition of Learnership 18.2: Considered by law not to be a permanent employee of Assmang) QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS Qualifications ·Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science (Essential); ·Complete N2 (Essential). Experience ·Handyman or Semi-skilled experience (Added advantage). Knowledge, Skills & Competencies ·Communication skills – good written and verbal; ·Technical knowledge – Mining and Engineering knowledge, working knowledge and understanding of learnership; ·Interpersonal skills; ·Computer literacy will be an added advantage. Other Requirements ·Preference will be given to applicants from Postmasburg, Kathu, Dibeng, Kuruman, Olifantshoek & Dingleton areas; ·A Valid Code B/EB drivers licence; ·Preparation and / study for assessments after hours to be done; ·Medically fit for duty. CONDITIONS: ·The learner will be appointed on the basis of the duration of the training agreement. Should a vacancy exist within the Company at the time of the Learners successful completion of his/her training program, in which the Learner has trained, the Learner will be obliged to take up fulltime employment with Assmang Limited. Should it not be required that the Learner take up fulltime employment with Assmang Limited, the Learner will be free to apply for fulltime employment in the open market. ·On completion of theoretical and practical training, the candidates may be appointed where formal vacancies arise in compliance with the companys recruitment procedures. ·It must be clearly noted that Assmang Limited will be under no obligation whatsoever to employ the Learner on a fulltime basis on completion of his/her training with the Company. ·The successful incumbent will be appointed subject to being certified medically fit as per the Mine Health and Safety Act 29/1996 and meeting the requirements of the Companys Code of Practice – Minimum standards of fitness to perform work at a Mine. He/she will also undergo a psychometric assessment. ·Successful candidates will also be responsible for their own accommodation and transportation to and from their place of work. Appointment: Remuneration will be based on a monthly all inclusive clean wages during his/her allocated training period according to company remuneration practices. The abovementioned positions are AA on the Patterson band grading system.
