LESSONS FROM THE SOWERS PARABLE 6-Acts 5vs1-10:Ananias and Sapphira were members of the early church in Jerusalem.They were recipients of the messages of Apostles.They probably knew Jesus Christ and the ressurection miracle.They witnessed the power of prayer and the wonders performed by the Apostles;yet their reception of the word can be described as the seed that fell among the thorns.The cares of this life,the deceitfulness of riches and desires of the good thing of life did not allow the word to grow in them.God gave them so much they were never under any compulsion to sell their possession,but they did and then lied to the Holy Spirit.Many times we give the impression of righteous worshippers of God.We appear in services yet our minds are far away from God.Actions like this are lying to the Holy Spirit.We try to impress men but God is not impressed.We give donations,spray money on the people and conclude that we are spending for God;yet we find it difficult to pay our tithes and other levies because nobody is seeing us.Demas was a close associate with Paul,Mark and Luke.After such walk with Christ,he fell in love with this world and went back to Thessalonica. For how long will you live this deceptive life?Change your way,to avoid His wrath. Things of the world are attractive;help me to live a life worthy of your death and ressurection in Jesus name.Amen
