LET GO & LET GOD! But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss - TopicsExpress

LET GO & LET GOD! But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith; that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death. Philippians 3:7-10 SITUATIONIAL/CIRCUMSTANCIAL restoration is God’s business. We must pray and ask God to give us the desires of our heart but we must put God first. We pray for those who are lost and pray for God’s will to be done and for us to have the discernment to find the mind of Christ. Anything else that comes before Christ is an idol, such as: People, addictions, careers and materialistic desires and possessions. Restoration must first be us…ourselves, being restored fully back to God. God must completely be on the throne in our heart. His will be done. Letting go and letting God is not being weak, mean spirited and most of all… (and I hope we hear this), it is not us giving up on another human being or breaking the Scripture of being double minded, not caring, etc. If our stand for the healing of a situation/circumstance is causing torment, uncontrollable fear, sinful anger, faithless sadness, crippling depression, anxiety, despair and hopelessness…then we DO NOT HAVE GOD FIRST. We have our “stand” first and it has become our idol. Only when God is FIRST, do those emotions come into alignment with the Will and the Word of God. It is not the absence of those emotions; it is having those emotions and not reacting to them but responding to them with the Word of God. Having our focus on our timing and being controlled by the rollercoaster of our emotions is very dangerous ground because God’s timing is perfect and we do not know how long or even how God will take or bring our situation to its fruition. And, if it doesn’t happen in our way and within our time frame, we could wind up being angry at God and holding resentment toward Him. It can happen to the best of Christians. We must be vigilant and on guard. The demonic realm will be looking for any foothold to throw us off course. We should read the whole account of Joseph’s life from Genesis 37-50 and take note of the suffering and most of all the timing God took to bring His promises to Joseph to completion. Paying attention to how Joseph responded to setbacks and disappointments. Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8 We must remember that Satan himself, knowing full well that Jesus was the Son of God, tried to derail and deceive Him. So think, if Satan is bold enough to try that tactic with the Messiah Himself, dont we think Satan could use the same tactic on us? We must be rooted and grounded in the Word of God in order to handle such a ambush. Letting go is not letting go of what we desire, it is “letting go” of our fear and control and surrendering that for…trusting God, believing that He is faithful, that He cares, that He is able and that He has nothing but the best for us. That is trust. If we continue to hold too tight, we don’t really trust God to handle it. Letting go is not quitting. Letting go, when it puts God first, is spiritual maturity and trust in action. Letting go is putting us on the Solid Rock of Christ where we can NOW effectively and solidly “STAN.” When we have God first in our life, then we have peace in the midst of whatever storm we’re in and we can TRULY say, “God, I am grateful for where I am and I thank You for loving me and wanting to give me beauty for ashes. I trust You and I know that I know that You have nothing but good in store for me, my family and my loved ones. Father, You hear all prayers and for that, I am confident and grateful.” If we’re not in that place, we say that prayer out loud to God until we believe it. When we’re in that place, we will have the Light of Christ radiating from within us and it will give others hope and will most certainly attract. But, it must be 100% of God’s doing…not ours. God is the power and He wants the glory for doing what ONLY He can do. He is the source, the author and finisher of our work. We stand for the restorations we seek but not at the expense of putting God first in every area of our life. We must remember, it is the Holy Spirit that calls us to stand in the first place. “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33 (KJV) To God be the Glory
