LET OUT THE PRODIGALS The famous bible story of the prodigal - TopicsExpress

LET OUT THE PRODIGALS The famous bible story of the prodigal son is very unique because of the profound message it contains. Although very simple and easy to comprehend but it can also be very complicated and far reaching if we are not able to connect the dots as relating to our individual lives. The younger Son demands from his Dad his own portion of inheritance. Contrary to most popular beliefs, he actually had good intention regarding what to do with the inheritance and not necessarily planning on squandering it. He supposedly had a good business plan and was very optimistic on what the returns on investment may look like at the end of the day. For the most part, many of us start out this way and there is nothing wrong doing so. He started out with a gimme gimme mentality which i assume should be appropriate for his age because the bible reckon him as the younger brother. I assume, the young man knew that he had to tow the line and by virtue of his position in family hierarchy, it may take a longer time to obtain the needed finances for his hot business plans. More so, he was tired of the norm, the status quo of having to walk behind his older brother and persistently hide in the shadows of his father. He was a resourceful and very enterprising young man like Peter who ventured out of the boat to walk on water. Never hold back from trying because if you do, you may be practicing procrastination, timidity and fear. However, he came back broke although he mustered a lot of courage to return to his roots despite the shame. He failed but choose not to remain a FAILURE by coming back for extra lessons on how to be independent of men and DEPENDENT of God. He supposedly thought he had the best of friends who were experts at helping him to execute his business plans because of the abundant resources available to him at the time. He returned disappointed and his narrative changed from give me to that of MAKE ME. He implored his Dad to forgive, accept and make me one of your servants. The make me moment comes to everyone one of us and it is only available to those who try, just like the prodigal son. He went over the top and the hand of mercy and grace caught him from falling headlong. His Dad was proud of him and he publicly celebrated his return in a grand style. Likewise, you will celebrated publicly only when you try. Try, try, try ! Keep trying in the face of all odd, It does not count how many times you sink but the number of times you walk on water is what counts. AYZ
