LET US TALK! A PROPHET TOLD ME TO HAVE A LOW-KEY WEDDING CEREMONY: What is Godly in receiving a prophecy that your marriage should be quiet and not extravagant or a big event(which is the usual thing in most Nigerian cultures)? Can God say something like that? If God can say that, does that mean God is too weak to protect you from enemies? If you want to get married tomorrow and somebody says God said you should not have an elaborate ceremony but just call few people and do it, what will you do? LETS USE THE BIBLE TO ANSWER THIS QUESTION. RESPONSE: The problem is that many people do not have an iota of the truths of their purpose in God. These kind of people wait for a big sign to dictate their way in life. They read horoscope and follow the Zodiac signs to know what their life would be. They soon transfer this mentality into Christianity. But it was not the stars that brought the wise men to Jesus, it was the exposition of Gods word. Star reading dont find God, only Gods word does. It is the same with people who depend on these prophets and diviners to define what they do and should not do. How would your low-key wedding be kept a secret from satan? Satan is the prince of darkness and if you try to hide , he can find anybody hiding. The only safe place is the secret place of Gods word and name. The Bible says; For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; In the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock-Psalm 27:5. The Bible speaks of the existence and ministry of prophets who were inspired to foretell of the coming Christ. Now the prophetic ministry in the new Testament forth-tells of the arrival of Messiah, His redemption and His word. They do not manufacture their own words nor manipulate people through the tool of fear which the scriptures says is of satan. The prophets of Bible time, inspired by God can tell of the future of the Kingdom of God, but for us now in Christ the kingdom of God is in us. The key to the Kingdom is in Gods word. Every prophet today must only RE-ECHO that which is already stated in the scriptures. Now a prophet came to my wife and said, if we do not want a delay in child bearing we should fast and stay apart 7days after our wedding. He said if he told me i will challenge him and he cant face me but he told my wife and my mother -in law. Imagine the hypocrisy. My wife said we do not keep things from each other and told me. I told my mother in law to tell him that he will loose all his family if he is not careful with where the devil inside him send him to prophesy. Anyway he ran away and behold I told my wife to tell him, I have a divine schedule with God and we do not need his counsel to make things happen. When my wife got pregnant, I bought only male stuffs because i told her we were having a boy. That is walking in agreement with the truth of Gods revelation in my personal life. So do you understand your purpose in God through His word? If you dont, people with what the Bible calls familiar spirits will prophesy fear and manipulation into your life. Remember that demon possessed girl in Acts 16:16-19 was able to proclaim the truth about Paul and Silas even though she was speaking by the power of satan. Paul would not agree with satanic advertisement , so he cast out the demon in her. So because the prophet has a good description of you, does not mean he or she is of God. If you invest in Gods word, every prophetic utterance will either be to CONFIRM or CHALLENGE you on Gods truth as declared by the word of God. If the almighty God says dont make an elaborate wedding, you should ask;WHY WOULD AN ALL POWERFUL GOD BE SO AFRAID THE DEVIL WILL OVERPOWER YOU AND WANTS YOU TO GO INTO HIDING? Nehemiah was told in the Bible to hide a by a paid prophet, do you know what He said? Nehemiah 6:11-13 says; I answered, “Why should someone like me have to run and hide in the temple to save my life? I won’t go!”Suddenly I realized that God had not given Shemaiah this message. But Tobiah and Sanballat had paid him to trick me and to frighten me into doing something wrong, because they wanted to ruin my good name. Nehemiah knew it was not in Gods character to hide and then fear was never Gods tool for His children. It is a good question to ask God when that happens. If there is another reason, maybe to save cost or even show moderation, please keep it a low-key wedding. It is from the word of God to be moderate but for fear of what the devil will do to you, hiding will not save you from the one called prince of darkness only Jesus the light of the world will save you. The death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the only way to be translated out of the dominion of darkness into the kingdom of the son of God. Hiding is not the way to be safe. Colossians 1:13-14 says; For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Jesus Christ is the only way to be out of the reach of satan- salvation and the new birth translates us into another kingdom where satan is not in charge but grace in Christ. Jethro the father in law of Moses realized the power of the God of the Bible and said; Now I know that the LORD is greater than all gods; for in the thing in which they acted proudly he was above them Exodus 18:11. Yes, Jesus Christ is always above. He is not ruled by fear or darkness- HE REIGNS SUPREME ALWAYS. ARE YOU IN CHRIST? ARE YOU REALLY IN CHRIST? If you are, your life is hid in Christ, you do not need to hide again but if you are not in Jesus Christ or do not know what it means to be born again, call upon Jesus Christ to save you now. Shalom!
