LETS JUST GET TO THE POINT-- Dwight L. Moody was haunted by this: he said he was preaching to the largest congregation he had ever seen in Chicago, feeling quiet elated by his success. He preached " what shall I do then with Jesus which is called the Christ." He did not close with an invitation to except this Christ he was talking about. He told them to go home and turn it over in their minds. Next Sunday he would bring them to Calvary and the cross, and then decide what to do with this Christ. But to his sorrel, he never saw them again. A fire broke out in Chicago and killed over 300 people, 90,000 homeless and a great city in ashes. He said he had rather have his right arm cut off than to go through that again. That he would preach the whole message and bring people to Christ right then and there. What is life? "You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes." The bible says, " he who rebukes a man will in the end gain more favor than he who has a flattering tongue." So keep it real, do not add or take away. God does not need that kind of help. The Word speaks for itself!
