LETS TALK UNDER-RATED SONGS- BOTH FOR THE BEATLES AS A GROUP AND THEN AS SOLO PERFORMERS... Of course the Beatles as a group are known for huge hits that are timeless. While some songs are rated highly by critics and fans alike some wonderful songs seem to be over-looked. The same can be said for their later works apart.. I think one of Pauls over-looked or under-rated gems can be found on his Flaming Pie CD. Its called Little Willow. This song is every bit as beautiful and thoughtful as Yesterday or Eleanor Rigby and like Hey Jude it was written by him to comfort a fellow Beatless kids. He wrote it when he heard that Ringos first wife, Maureen, died of cancer. On the Flaming Pie liner notes he wrote, I wanted to somehow convey how much I thought of her. For her and her kids. It certainly is heartfelt, and I hope it will help a bit. I think its a masterpiece! What songs come to your minds?
