LEUNG CHUN-YINGS COMMENTS ARE LIKELY TO FURTHER FUEL THE ANGER OF PROTESTERS --------------------------------------------------------- Hong Kongs embattled chief executive has said the citys pro-democracy movement is out of hand and being influenced by external forces from outside the city and saying if the government met pro-democracy protesters demands it would result in the citys poorer people dominating elections. The protesters, led by a restive generation of students, have been demanding Chinas Communist Party rulers live up to constitutional promises to grant full democracy and denied Hong Kong leader’s claim that external forces are involved in protests in the territory. Hong Kong is ruled under a one country, two systems formula that allows it wide-ranging autonomy and freedoms and specifies universal suffrage for Hong Kong as an eventual goal.
