LIGHT BULB MOMENT. Was convinced that Karen Echternachts solution to good, safe footing and landing surface for barn hunt was one of the most economical, healthy, and efficient systems. It has withstood the test of many trials at this point and is still in great shape. She applies it over a concrete floor which she and her exhibitors considered unacceptable for her hunts. It makes course building swift and easy, working from judges plans with an automatic 2 x 2 grid on the floor. Clean ups were quick and easy. Set up was fast and adaptable; take down even faster. Brush off and stuff in 2 x 2 boxes for transport. Not slippery like tarps; definitely safer and easier on dogs and people than hard surfaces. Her floor was a uniform red which looked great with the straw. She watched for a bulk, discount buy and thought she bought for 1/3 the price I found: $524 to cover a 32 x 24 master ring area, 768 sq. feet configured however you choose. If you could find it at her price $1/block, it would be a steal! There are many suppliers and brands available. Stick to commercial grade indoor/outdoor.
