LISTEN UP MOMS & DADS for this REAL LIFE LESSON -- We have the same kind of outlets that everyone else has in their house. Most of them are covered up to be child-proof. There is one in the living room that we have not had covered for near a year because its almost always filled up with a computer charger and an iPhone charger. Today, they were empty because I piled those cords on the counter to have them off of the floor while I vacuumed. When I finished, I got distracted by a doorbell ring. My oldest (age 14), the middle (3 years) and the baby (almost 1) were all in the living room. While I was distracted, our middle son found and inserted a metal object into the wall socket seriously shocking himself, burning his hand and causing the lights to flicker. As you can see, the wall socket is charred along with the wall and now needs to be replaced. We spent nearly half the day at the Emergency Room where our poor boy had to get a second IV in two days as well as an EKG heart monitor test to be sure that there were no organ issues or tissue damage due to his electrocution. COVER THOSE SOCKETS. It only takes one time. We are so very fortunate to have our sweet baby here with us tonight with just a few burns on his hand. :( :( :( --- Crystal
