LIVING A LIFE All poetry, I must confess Alleviates the emptiness, Which alienates those made of flesh Inside a world, which may seem fresh For a short while, and then its clear No stranger can survive. I fear For those who try to understand. Nothing turns out as it was planned. We might not sense the boundaries. We look for love and try to please We live short lives not knowing when It ends. Perhaps we’ll try again. Each soul reflects eternity, Dark matter and dark energy. Is there a meaning to it all? We all must die and night will fall. We try hard to communicate. We scream into the void and wait. We listen and we wonder why. We wait in vain for a reply. We like to think there is a plan, A God who has created man We may believe God made the choice That we would always have a voice. It’s difficult. We can’t sustain Delusions, which we can’t maintain We make it all up as we go. We must, because we’ll never know.
