LMC HOSTS APPLE BUTTER FESTIVAL OCTOBER 12 For an afternoon of family fun, don’t miss the Lutheran Memorial Camp’s 40th Apple Butter Festival October 12 from 11:00-5:00 pm. This afternoon of food fun and games for the entire family will provide “Camperships” (financial assistance) to children who want to participate in the camping experience. Best of all, there is no admission charge! A highlight of the day will be the “Grand Auction” from NOON to 3pm. Silent bids will be collected in the Auction Tent and winners will be announced shortly after 3pm. The folk-rock ensemble Avalon Nine will be rendering tunes by the Cedar Lodge. Fresh cider, right from the cider press and Applesauce made over an open fire…homemade ham ‘n’ bean soup with cornbread…fresh baked apple pies and dumplings will all be available for purchase, including some sugar and gluten-free! “Crafters in Cabins” will be displaying their hand-made Americana gifts for sale. Enjoy an entire kid’s area with games, face painting, petting zoo, bounce house and craft projects. Join in the cupcake decorating competition or decorate a scarecrow (prizes awarded)! Maybe you’d like an old-fashioned hayride through the camp. Pumpkins will be available to decorate. A vast array of desserts will be available including some sugar and gluten-free. As always, there will be tasty foods, an outstanding arts and crafts show as well as hayrides through the camp. There will be lots of entertainment including face painting, a bounce castle with slide, bands, demonstrations, a scarecrow contest and of course, apple butter and cider making!
