MY HUSBAND IS MY HERO PLAY HOUSE **************************************** Laura couldnt believe it,,, she just saw Uchenna walk out on her. Could this mean the end of a blossoming five year relationship? Dave was just a friend but Uchenna would not want to hear her out. Her stuttering explanations fell on deaf ears.. Well... Dave had been pestering on her but she just couldnt cave in. She cant afford to. But that wednesday afternoon was a disaster. Uchenna arrived at her office just when Dave was at it again. Getting home with her heart not at peace, Laura tried to reach Uchennas phone line many times without an answer. Her heart got panting... She just didnt know what to do... Immediately, she held up her Blackberry phone and laced her fingers over the QWERTY keys while she typed series of explanations in texts messages, hoping to pacify Uches heart. But yet, no answer from him. Pheew! Shes losing it now,,, sweating all over. What in the world is all these? Laura had turned down big prospective suitors for her love; Uchenna. She just cant believe she would lose all of it like this. She has invested all her emotions into it all. Oh that heaven would fall. No, it cant happen, she swore with her teary eyes. She just couldnt take it. She had to call up Betty, her best friend, who came to her house shocked at how devastated Laura seemed to be. Betty was just scared that Laura may not survive this onslaught. Her break up with Harry, her ex, almost caused a great harm to her. After Laura had told her what transpired that day, she decided to call Uchenna with her own line to help explain to him. But No... The line was now switched off. It wasnt just easy for Laura and her friend. This is not a time to cry, Laura Betty kept assuring her as she tried to force her to eat the food she just prepared, but Laura had already lost appetite. This wasnt going to be easy for both friends. It was already 6.pm when Lauras phone beeped. Quickly, she rushed her phone and it was Uchennas text message,,, He had told her to meet him immediately at the Orange room executive lounge, right away. Oh, thank God, she sighed as she picked up her phone and went to the bathroom to freshen up. Betty could only watch helplessly as her consolatory words had fallen on deaf ears all along. Minutes after, Laura was ready to move. Betty dropped her off with her car, And after some minutes, She was in the premises of Orange room. With few steps, she had made her way into the executive lounge where she met her hearthrob. Oh, how softly her heart melted when she beheld the dark tall Uchenna whom she had fought all years to hold on to. Sit down Uche beckoned on her. Thank you she replied, while awaiting him to bring up the topic of what happened earlier in the day. She was ready to swear to her love that she doesnt have anything to do with Dave, her colleague. She was ready for anything, just to prove her innocence. But Uche never raised the topic again,,, and that tortured Laura so badly. He tactically kept asking her what she would eat and how her day went. Lauras voice kept shaking as she kept wishing in her heart, Oh Lord, let this not be a break-up dinner. She just couldnt think of it. She wont love again if it happens. Oh Lawwd! Then suddenly, the waiter came down to Laura and gave her a parcel, telling her that a certain man outside told him to give it to her. Whaaaaattttt ??? Shocked,,, Laura refused to take the parcel while insisting that the waiter take the parcel back to the owner. But Uchenna, wasnt comfortable with that. He sternly insisted that Laura takes it and open it right there. Oh my God !!! Who could this be now?,,, Why is today so horrific for me Laura mustered under her breathe... She looked at Uche and saw what looked like fury on his face,,, She has never seen her honey-pie so furious like this. First, it was Dave,,, Now, this ananimous man?,,, She grabbed the parcel and opened it slowly, while intermittently looking at Uches curious face. She was simply sorry. Sorry for what? A well designed card was all she found in the parcel. Confused, she sat still, not knowing what next to do. Uche still insisted that she opens the card and check whats written there. Oh my... If this guy wrote anything indicting here, Im finished Laura reasoned... Opening the card, she was stunned at the words scribbled on it; Laura dear, I just cant continue to be your boyfriend anymore.... I, Uchenna, strongly believes that it should all end here, dear Then below the card read; Would you marry me? Shocked and confused,,, She looked at Uches face and back again to what she just read. Her mouth wide open, What could be happening? Looking back at Uches face again, she now saw his smiling face as he stood up and walked towards her and knelt before her, bringing out his ring and proclaimed; Baby, would you be my wife? Oh God, This is not true !!! Laura couldnt hold back her tears as she cried and fell into Uches waiting arms and hugged him so tightly. Then she whispered into his ears; Yes Uche, I would marry you, dear. I would be your woman, your wife. Oh, she just couldnt believe that her day would finally end this sweetly. Oh Love.. Oh Life.. Then, Uchenna brought forth her left hand and slotted in the ring into her middle finger. They kissed.... and hugged... and laughed at all what transpired that day. The sweet conspiracy between Uchenna and the waiter is a legendary script that Laura would never forget. They sweetly got married and as they would, lived happily ever after. Aawww!
