LOGANSPORT FALLS LATE, 24-22 TO LAKEVIEW The Logansport Tigers dropped their second game of the year, 24-22, to the Lakeview Gators. Leading late in the game with 2:48 left the Tigers lost a fumble that was returned 80 yards by the Gators for the deciding points. The game was evenly matched as both teams scored once in the the first and third quarters. In the fourth quarter the teams traded touchdowns until Lakeview scored the deciding points. This week the Tiger return home to take on the Red River Bulldogs. Game time is 7:00 Friday night. Logansport received the opening kick off and took the field running a no huddle offense. On the fifth play of the drive, at the 9:30 minute mark of the 1st quarter, quarterback Logan Spears connected with Kameron Chatman on a 32 yard touchdown pass. The extra point attempt was no good and the Tigers led 6-0. The drive took 5 plays and covered 53 yards. With 43 seconds left in the opening quarter Lakeview scored on a 49 yard run. The conversion failed and the first quarter ended with the score tied 6-6. With 3:00 minutes left in the third quarter Lakeview scored on an 11 yard run . The conversion again failed but Lakeview led 12-6. Logansport took possession and 2 plays later Spears passed 34 yards to Tanner McDonald. Chatman ran in the conversion to give the Tigers a 14-12 lead with 2:26 left in the quarter. With 10:05 left in the game Lakeview regained the lead with a 15 yard run. Once again, the conversion held and Lakeview led 18-14. Only 55 seconds later, with 9:00 left in the game, on 4 and 1, Spears scored on a 34 yard run. Chatman again added the conversion to put the Tiger ahead 22-18. With 2:30 left in the game and the Tigers running out the clock, the Gators stripped the ball from the Tiger back and returned it 80 yards for the go ahead score making the final 24-22. Logansport rolled up 350 yards of total offense and held Lakeview to 304 yards. Once again, Chatman led the ground attack with 15 carries for 91 yards. DeRoderick Johnson added 53 yards on 7 carries and Spears had 5 carries for 47 yards. Spears completed 14 passes out of 24 attempts for 159 yards. McDonald was the leading receiver with 6 catches for 61 yards. Chatman had 5 catches for 46 yards, Hunter Bagley had 2 catches for 38 yards and Jonathan Creech had 1 catch for 14 yards. Defensively, James Pitts had 1 quarterback sack, Charlie McClintock and Nathaniel Chardonnay each had 1/2 sack. Kaleb McClain and Bagley each recovered 1 fumble.
