LOITA. Preparing to go to Loita Hills reminds me of them days, old times.2 and a half decades ago, we had Nooor the lorry aka Loita star and Noor the man.....the driver. Thats all that mattered. 2014, same old shit! Getting ready for Loita is no mean task. It was simple. Life was simple.....I mean, you could only travel to Loita if some good samaritans like my good parish priest was on his way back from his weekly shopping trips from Narok. I actually remember a time when I had to lodge in Osupuko hotel for a week with Michael Momposhi after some class 8 tuition because we couldnt get any means to that sweet home. Being a loitan calls for you to be more than just that. You have to be a kind of weather man and learn the patterns. The rainy season was full of new time adventure. Trust me it wasnt adventure at that time, it was SITIRESS! We had to pack several loafs of bread, milk to last us at least a day or two just in case the heavens decided to water the black cotton soils or worse if Olkeju-osur and Olgaenet decided to push more sand to the Sand-River. We were very proud on top that Lorry. It was the best means of transport available in our division at the time. We were so proud of it such that many students at Ole Ntutu Arid Zone primary school (that was such a long name)envied our happiness and decide to boycott the otherwise more comfortable and modern school bus to board our lorry! We sung songs of prays to the driver as we zoomed of the dusty olashepani route to the city of Narok. From Narok to Loita was all a different story. A story for another day. I could write write and write........thats for another day because I have to prepare to go to Loita........same old shit, same bad roads, same unpredictable weather....same old friends.....just a different day, just a little wiser. We are travelling for adventure......expecting to get stuck, soil our boots and jeans....feel the old times. We have come along way! We no longer carry bread and milk.......We pack vodka.....whisky.....Heineken and everything else that tastes better than milk...We laugh all the way and we still have ilamuriak as part of our wild fruit diet.........oh men, dont I just love Loita? I have to go because one monkeyface Ole Lesirkon Lanet just found a nice tow rope. Jonas Ole Putwai left early to a certain the conditions of the road. And I dont know where Ole Nkai Le Enkai is. I hope he has the club well stocked. Saningo Ole Saibulu oooputiai, Kejoaa transport? Toty Kone Ole the once upon a time motorbike wizard is fully in attendance. Men it is a party at entasekira. And the chief Jeremy Ole Moonka is in TZ! Thats bad news.....wish you well buddy. Saitoti Kuraru man down I will get you photos. Brian Lemayian El Andy cant be a party without you. Rise Ole Patiat shumpai Shumpai Keith Baari pia wewe ni wa kutumiwa pisha ;) Sorry I gotta go now, Loita has no power has little network coverage so dont call me! I need to save the power for the photos! Ramos was just feeling good in bed....
