LOL.... Im going to say one last thing. Original email I received: I dont think well be publishing this one bc within the context of an ongoing discussion on campus, I dont think this necessarily brings much more to the table--it reads a bit too broad and general Please tell me how the ongoing discussion on campus already involves explicitly mentioning state violence, anti-blackness, racism, AND most importantly, how we, as UChicago students or affiliates of the university, are COMPLICIT in these situations. Cause Im missing out on some important ass discussions. But now after people (who arent me btw) called the Maroon on that bullshit heres the maroons calculated response: The article... was ultimately rejected for... reasons all related *exclusively* to the quality of writing and argument.... Editors reserve the right to reject submissions if they do not meet requirements and such rejections are necessary in order to establish and maintain quality standards. It is true that in the past, certain Viewpoints articles have been subpar. Yet, previous standards for publication are not and should not necessarily be indicative of current or future standards. Quality standards, huh. So in case you aint heard, Viewpoints are about to get real serious yall. I wont hold my breath... Anyways, support my blog and other conversations around POC, racism, white supremacy, and more because regardless of the Maroons opinion, marginalized positions arent talked about enough. Im schleep doe.
