LONDON: Mahatma Gandhis famous charkha that he used in Yerawada jail during the Quit India movement fetched a whoping £1,10,000 at an auction in the UK. His final wl was also sold for £20,000 at the auction for historical documents & artefacts by Mullocks Auction house in Shropshire. The auction house, howevr, refusd to name the buyers. Made of Indian teak, the Chakhra, with a minimum bid of £60,000 was used by Gandhi durng his term at the Pune jail and was gifted to American Free Methodist misionary Revd Floyd A Pufer by him in 1935.
