LONG TERM RESULTS 0F FAITHFUL OPEN AIR PREACHING IN THE SAME SPOT OVER 3 STRAIGHT YEARS South Beach Miami always had a reputation for being a wicked place. Before I began preaching there I sometimes hoped a hurricane would come by and destroy it. I picked up a book in the bookstore by Mark Cahill and the first chapter was on South Beach and he called it Americas Version of Sodom and Gommorah. Anyway we preached there each week for at least three straight years every Saturday (2004-2006). Ocean Drive at that time was all clubs. They had clubs for thugs, clubs for sodomites, clubs for yuppies, etc. We preached all up and down Ocean Drive. During this time we were regularly and often weekly stopped by police, threatened and I was arrested a few times. In recent years I have preached at South Beach on New Years Eve and have noticed Ocean Drive is no longer lined with clubs and bars but is now lined with restaurants. It doesnt even seem like a club atmosphere anymore but a place people bring their families. Is this revival? Of course not and not even close. Do I believe there is any correlation? ABSOLUTELY! What would have happened if the momentum began in those years had been maintained? Greater progress would have been made. What would happen if this would happen all over the country?
