LOOKING TO BUY A HORSE! $2,500 budget, looking for a gelding near north Texas or southern Indiana! Alright guys, we couldnt make my dream of a Gypsy horse happen like we had hoped. So Im keeping that dream in my back pocket for the next few years. For now Im casually looking for a horse. Its been five years since Ive owned one, since mine was sold out from under me at a horse show. :( But I am ready to own another horse again and would like to start looking. Im looking for a flashy gelding for the show ring, with a good temperament and suitable for all around riding. Would love a horse with a bit of spunk, but also great brakes! Id love a draft horse, the taller the better and a fair amount of feather. I do have experience working and riding drafts but this would be my first one to own. I love shires, but am open to other breeds. Id prefer a horse with their full tail but its not required. Also the horse would be used for all around riding and showing, maybe some driving. Must be broke, w/t/c and no buck or rear. Im an intermediate rider and can deal with difficult horses but do not want to deal with bucking as I have a sensitive upper back and some mobility issues. I train service dogs for the disabled so there are always well behaved dogs at my house, and the horse would need to be ok with them. Im located in north Texas, but have a close friend in Indiana who can also try horses out for me. The horse would have a great life here with me. I live on 26 acres, we have stalls, pasture, an arena, wash rack, and vet lab. I would like to do open shows and trail riding with my horse. Registration is not required but is definitely a plus! Ive attached some pictures of ideal draft horses, as well as some others I like. :)
