LOVE EPISTLE Life and Living Issue#138 But now after you have known God, or rather are known by God, how is it that you turn again to the weak and beggarly elements, to which you desire again to be in bondage? (Gal 4:9) There is a certain lifestyle that is lived by those who have known and are known of God. This lifestyle is possible because they carry the very life of God —a life eternal. This life is not affected by anything but it effects everything. The original deception of man was not believing that he was as God. As such he ate from the wrong tree to attain what he already was (Gen 3:5). Knowledge of good and evil doesnt make people as gods, the life of God is what makes one a god. Bondage for the new creation will then be anything that limits the life of God in him. Subjecting diety to elements of this world which he can control and influence is bondage. The law was not meant for the new creature. The law could not do certain things because it was weak (Rom 8:3). The law is both limited and a limitation. The new creature has put on Christ and put off limitation (Col 3:10). Many people are concerned about dying that they have forgotten to live. For the death that you died, you died to sin [ and its limitations ] once for all; but the life that you live, live to God (Rom 6:10). It is life because it has to be lived.
