LOVELY MESSAGE FROM ONE OF OUR #UKBride MEMBERS THIS MORNING.... I have seen a lot of reviews today about people struggling with the stress and expense of wedding planning. Weddings should not be this way at all. Myself and my fiancé were engaged for 3 years before we tied the knot last week. We did it an amazing way of having a wedding week. We each had so much family and didnt want to say no to anyone but we also didnt want the big day full of pomp and stress. We wanted it to be special and about love. So we decided to have a small intimate wedding with just 10 guest at the Celtic manor. We stayed there the night before had a huge suite to play games with our family. The ceremony was gorgeous and intimate even the registrar was in tears. Due to only having 10 guests we had absolutely no stress and could really enjoy our day. Even the wedding planner and photographer had never seen anything like it as we were all so relaxed and stress free. We had group photos and a meal like a normal wedding then we played games, danced and chilled for he rest of the day. We had a fab week with my husbands family as we got excited for our wedding reception that was to be held on the Saturday (we were married on the Monday). On the sat the reception/party started at 4:30. A vintage car picked us up (surprise from my mum bless her) taking us for a drive before we arrived at our reception venue to hundreds of our guests lining the street. It was so overwhelming. We had group photos with everyone. The evening was incredible and it was perfect seeing every guest with amazing grins on their face. Once again we had none of the usual stress. We had a huge buffet, emotional speeches (different from the Monday), first dances, a live band, Greek dancing and a family guitar sing a long to finish. Words cant explain how perfect our wedding week was. We had zero stress all year and everything wen perfect. Our wedding cost way user half an average wedding for everything and we had more than we could have wanted and obviously we did everything twice (3 wedding cakes, wearing dress/formal outfits twice, double speeches and double the family fun). Every guest said how incredible it was and newly engaged couple said that they would do the same thing. Obviously everyone is different but this was perfect for my husband and I! Wedding days should be about family and love not spending a stupid amount of money for the sake of it. The week went quick enough and I am so glad we tailor made our wedding to suit us instead of following the norm for weddings. Break the mold new brides and you will have the most perfect and stress free wedding ever!!!
