LOW COUNTRY SPAAMFAA ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING - JUNE 7TH Well the time has come, we are having an organizational meeting to form a new chapter in SPAAMFAA. We will be getting together on Saturday June 7th 2014 at the Lowcountry Firefighter Support Group building (old NCFD Station 5) on Dorchester Road, North Charleston. I would like to see people start arriving between 11:30a and 12 noon so everyone can get to meet and greet. Lunch will be at 12 noon (burgers and dogs and all the fixins) with the meeting kicking off at 1p. Since it is hard to know everyone that might have an interest in the chapter I would ask that you talk to those you know and invite them to attend and see what we are doing. Remember, you do not have to own a fire truck to belong. There are people with varied interested in SPAAMFAA from vehicle owners to photographers to model builders to fire buffs and the list goes on. If you, or your friend(s) are interested in preserving Americas Firefighting History this is the place for you. This chapter does not have any geographical boundaries and all are welcome. There are people from chapters all across the country that join other chapters that are not in their local area so dont worry about not being in the charleston region. We will be discussing the chapters by-laws and other required paperwork, looking at nominating officers, discussing names for the chapter and newsletter and putting it all together so Ray, Candy and I can present it to the National Board in Columbus, OH at the end of the month.
