Lower Than Atlantis are a British post hardcore, alternative rock band with roots in the punk rock scene who are based in Watford, United Kingdom formed in 2007. The band currently consists of lead vocalist Mike Duce, bassist Dec Hart, drummer Eddy Thrower and guitarist Ben Sansom. The band released their debut EP, Bretton, in 2008. Their first album, Far Q, was released in 2010. They released their debut EP, Bretton via Thirty Days of Night Records in December 2008. This release took on a hardcore punk sound which has since all but disappeared from the bands sound. Their next release and first full length album, entitled Far Q, was released in March 2010 under the Distort Entertainment label. This release retained some element of the bands hardcore roots whilst gearing itself more towards post hardcore influences. Their second full-length, World Record, was recorded at Outhouse Studios in Reading, and released via Sumerian Records/Wolf At Your Door Records in April 2011. It took strong alternative rock influences from bands such as Jimmy Eat World and Foo Fighters. World Record saw the band make a breakthrough both in terms of growth at live shows and radio air time.
