LUKE 18 People Magazine!! How do we measure people? We look at their ethnic background, physical appearance, education, economic status, accomplishments, associations-----the list goes on and on. In Luke 18 we see a cross section of people----a defenseless window; a crusty, unfair judge; a strutting Pharisee; a breast-beating tax collector; eager, accepting children; a serious-minded rich young man; disciples with questions and uncertainty; and a blind beggar determined to see. On the surface they don’t have anything in common. But take a closer look at their hearts. One essential factor that distinguishes them in their heart attitude. That’s how God measures people. They are the stars in his People Magazine!! Luke the physician shows that he has a heart for everyone, especially those neglected by the religious hierarchy in Jerusalem-----widows, publicans, little children, and beggars. Jesus the Great Physician excludes no one who comes to him.
