LUSAKA AND COPPERBELT PROVINCE PATRIOTIC FRONT JOINT PRESS CONFERENCE. Ladies and gentlemen, members of the media, we welcome you to this media briefing. We as patriotic front in lusaka and on the copperbelt wish to make our comments on the recent incident in ndola which UPND leader hakainde hichilema claims that PF members disrupted his radio program and threatened his life. Firstly we want to make it clear that MR Hichilema is not a factor on the copperbelt. In fact the PF in the area did not even know that he was around because he does not excite anyone on the copperbelt. Regarding the disruption of the radio programe, we have done our investigations because we get concerned when any of our members is reported to be involved in violence as we sincerely belive that pf is the most peaceful party in Zambia. Our findings are that the people who wanted to deal with Mr hichilema are ordinary citizens who spotted him at the radio station. We have been told that the citizens of the copperbelt and the rest of the country are not happy with Mr hichilema because of his insults against president Michael c sata and the pf, which he is sponsoring through his online media and through cowardly UPND cadres who hide behind their computers to insult the president on the internet. Fellow citizens, ladies and gentlemen There are diffrent forms of violence. Violence can be physical and it can also be emotional or vebal. The insults and defamation that president sata and the pf are enduring everyday from UPND through the internet are a very severe form of violence and can destroy peoples lives just like physical violence can do. Therefore, we can no longer allow allow the cowards in UPND to continue hiding behind their phones and computers and in the confort of their homes and inflict violence on innocent citizens and their leadership through social media. As a result of this unfortunate situation, we the patriotic front leadership on the copperbelt and lusaka has resolved the following 1. We shall use all means including the party machinery and technology to trace all individuals that are posting malicious things, insults and defamatory comments on social media and other against president Michael sata, the party and its leadership. You may wish to know that for as long as someone is using their mobile phone registered in Zambia or laptop connected to any internet provider in Zambia, they will not run away or hide from their crimes, even when they are anonymous or using false names. 2. We have henceforth instructed PF members and supporters countrywide to bring to our attention any person who they know or can identify as having posted malicious or insulting comments on the president and the party leadership. 3 once we trace such individuals behind the insults against the president and the party, we shall report them to the law enforcers and ensure that they are dealt with in accordance with the law. 4. If the law enforcers fail to deal with such internet criminals, we shall have no choice but to deal with them ourselves. Our party functionaries countryside are on red alert oh how to trace and deal with such criminals.a. We have no problems with people who are criticising the PF in any way and shall be very tolerant of criticism as always. What we do not agree with are the insults, lies and defamation, expecially through internet, which are bent on misleading the people and embarrassing the leadership.... Thank you very much.
