Aujourdhui a maurice il ya de gens pauvre tel que la femme de cinquante neuf ans qui souffre de manque de lectricite,deau potable et RS 3000 mensuellement pour la vie quotidiene Est que ca la justice dune societe moderne en vingtieme siecle? Je me demande la question Ici on parle de lile Maurice va devenir un pays riche.bientot Je me demande Quel democracie? When people speak of people rights it is beggars belief that people have to face such injustices and unfairness on daily basis. We need to combat corruption at the highest level in society so that Mauritius citizens can enjoy decent living standards without going with a begging bowl to the government. We need investment in jobs,in schools ,transport and a decent pension system which is viable for the country . As I said before we need to bring in changes and reforms in public services which are costing BILLIONS OF RUPEES to the taxpayers and will become increasingly unsustainable in future. . Take for example the civil service and government quangos which are remotely cost effectiveand hardly accountable for poor governance. We need tax reforms to help the low paid .by targetting inefficiencies and waste in government departments. The PSBR is too high for a smal country like Mauritius and PUBLIC DEBT is increasing day by day . We need to reduce the ratio of public debt to peoples incomes and tax revenues. PAY AS YOU EARN AND NATIONAL INSURANCE SYSTEMS need to be explored further by the exchequer as part of the reform systems including setting up of performance indicators and governance standards at all levels by the powers to be.. The rich and business magnates must contribute more in taxation to reduce dependency on the state and there by creating a fairer and more equal society. We need to promote a saving culture rather than spend and spend until the country goes to IMF FOR MAINTAING public services. MIP is small political party which may be of little significance to people and the BIG PARTIES but it will make a difference at the next general election. This will be only possible if all small parties will havesame level playing field as the big parties in political funding. I say to the present government it is high time to reviiew political funding system.to give an equal footing to the small parties.
