LaSalle Street in Chicago has played into my familys life in the distant past. My uncle Arthur (who I am most likened to, but was killed in the 2nd World War), met his bride Lois Jane at Moody Bible Institute. Years later, she was sent out as a missionary while at member of Moody Church, founded by the famed 19th century missionary, Dwight D Moody, to Africa where she died as a missionary with Child Evangelism in Durban. I had the privilege of recently visiting her grave site in Durban. Moody Bible Institute has been one of the greatest missionary training centers of the world and the producer of radio and media programs with apologetics for Christian faith Today, I stopped by, honoring those who have preceded me. It was Dr Ray Bakke who introduced me to another very different form of ministry in the La Salle Street Church when Bill Leslie pastored that church. This church has a notable reputation for ministering to people at the margins of society.
