LaZouche Custom airsoft STI Executive project Pt 2: This is the second video in my STI Executive project and in this part I detail the slide to frame lapping, whereby we file and grind the bars and rails of the slide and frame to fit snugly together giving a smooth cycling action. Potted History: Hi capacity frames have been around since the late eighties when Para Ordnance developed the hi-cap metal framed 1911 in .45 ACP. STI took it into the future with polymer gripped lower frames. Designed and built in a year, it was first shown at the 1992 shot show. The design has been ever since a dominate force in IPSC. The Edge was the main stay of events but one pistol was in house customized for STI CEO of the time Dave Skinner, who had it hard chromed and tricked out with a new fibre optic foresight, grey grip and large silver funneled magwell. Soon shooters were begging for their own ones and so the Executive was born. The airsoft project: Using Shooters Design frame, grip and slide and an ugraded sear, with standard TM internals this build should be a straight fit if all the hype is to be believed with regards SD parts. Ive used their parts before but I always remain skeptical as standards can drop over time as companies rely on their past lorals and become complacent... Parts used: TM 5.1 Hi-capa donor gun internals and barrel assembly. SD Executive alloy stainless slide. SD Alloy stainless mid frame. SD grey polymer grip. AS steel sear. 5KU full BBH. Guarder nozzle. Guarder guide rod. Freedom Art fibre optic fore sight. Should you have any questions please leave a comment or PM me. Thank you for watching and stay tuned for further chapters to come in this on-going project. Stay sharp but stay safe ;-)
