Lab-grown meat, would you eat it? Theres a lot I could say about this but I will address a couple things only: Its great that people are thinking about how destructive eating meat (using todays methods) is and coming up with a solution - apparently 70% of people think its a good idea, I assume for the sake of animal welfare mostly, as welfare was bigged up a lot in the article. ....What I dont like is how this is coming across as the only solution to all of the problems that eating meat is causing. Professor Mark Post (head honcho) even says: I think [lab-grown meat] will change our attitude to animal welfare. Those issues are there today but we ignore them because we dont have an alternative. If we had an alternative, we could no longer ignore them. Not once is a perfectly valid alternative to eliminate the way that animals are treated brought up - not eating it, not feeding the industry that endeavors to hurt animals for a profit. Ignorance aside, I really dont know if Id eat this.
