Labour resoundingly hold the position of Police and Crime - TopicsExpress

Labour resoundingly hold the position of Police and Crime Commissioner in South Yorkshire. Well thank god for that - I had feared that the UKIP-Con could have won this one! The UKIP candidate was a Police Inspector during the Miners Strikes and Hillsborough. UKIP refused to answer my questions about his role in these incidents, and blocked me from further contact. So much for straight talking and common sense! The last thing that South Yorkshire wants is a veteran of Thatchers Paramilitary Strike Force to be overseeing the already highly criticised South Yorkshire Police. Furthermore, a man representing a far-right party that does not believe in fundamental Human Rights has absolutely no place in Britains policing. Party politics aside, I hope that incoming Labour PCC Alan Billings can overturn a generation of cynicism and restore public trust in a newly reformed South Yorkshire Police Force.
