Lack of evidence is never proof that something definitely does not - TopicsExpress

Lack of evidence is never proof that something definitely does not exist. It is only proof that whoever claims he has no proof of something existing is honest about his ignorance. For 250 years centuries, after the Japanese persecution Japanese Catholics in the 16th century, Catholic communities of Kakuri Kirishitan continued to live a hidden life in the hills above Nagasaki without priests. They had only two sacraments Baptism and Marriage. The Catholic Church had no evidence of their existence until Admiral Perry opened up Japan in the 19th century to trade and missionaries. When the Catholic Church came back to Nagasaki it was approached by the families of these hidden Christians. They wanted to know three things. Were the new Catholics devoted to Mary, if their priest were single, and if they were submissive to the Pope in Rome? Once they were assured of this, some were reunited to the Catholic Church. Is this not a miracle of faith? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kakure_Kirishitan
