Ladies ~ Today is a fresh new day... dont drag yesterdays negativity, failures, excuses, and sins into it. It is wise for you to learn from things that tempted you to make wrong and unwise decisions so that you will be on guard so as not repeat them again and again. However it is not good to keep yesterdays confessed failures in the forefront of your mind. Take hope - change IS hard but not impossible. It is vital that you saturate your life with fervent prayer, study of the scriptures, and yield your life to the leading of the Holy Spirit - moment by moment. In order to break and change bad habits, vices, personality flaws, and addictions you need to yield yourself to the Spirit and make godly decisions instead of fleshy, selfish, and worldly ones. Remember… change hurts, costs, and demands when you are tempted to the point of feeling like giving up- change is possible when you keep focused and yielded. When you fail, confess it, forsake it, and get right back up again…strive hard not to resort to anger or self-pity. Often when people fail their next temptation is to cave in and give up. Don’t give in to temporary pleasure and ease. Realize your breaking point…and prepare ahead for it so that you will have victory. Put on the armor of God so that you will stand in the evil day: “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm” (Eph. 6:10-13; see also Eph. 6:14-20). Rom 12:1-2 says, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. (Notice this says our bodies… the next verse speaks of the mind but it is important that we realize that our bodies, our physical lives, need to be brought under control through self discipline). And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (parenthesis mine).
