Ladies and Gentlemen of London Boxing Clubs Most of you will - TopicsExpress

Ladies and Gentlemen of London Boxing Clubs Most of you will know me as the Ex-England Major Panel Referee within the CSBA and Yorkshire or my role within the Central Area on the Pro Circuit. I am writing to you in relation to the recent AIBA/England Boxing rule changes which, as you are aware, has prohibited coaches, officials managers, promoters and others from being involved in professional and amateur boxing activities at the same time. I ask that this email be forwarded to all your current and ex Pro/Am coaches, officials and anyone else that has been affected by the above rule change in the running of your clubs. This email is going nationwide to all clubs that have their email details on the England Boxing Web Site, however there are clubs with minimal details. I have spoken with many of you about the issues that need addressing to save our sport and its future. I now ask for you to get directly in touch with me to create a data base of support in writing to AIBA and England Boxing to question the legality of the rule changes. I have a solicitor Daniel Geey on board who is one of the Trustees of the St Pancras Club in London and also a sports lawyer with city law firm Fieldfisher. I firmly believe there are some strong arguments to suggest that there is a clear restriction of trade in prohibiting individuals from participating in amateur and professional boxing activities. Banning and punishing individuals if they do not comply with these rules seems incredibly unfair and unjust. I believe England Boxing and AIBA are hoping that individuals do not challenge their new rules and are ignoring those that have the courage to do so. As Daniel will set out in a letter he is drafting, there appear to be undue restrictions on trade within UK and the European Union. I urge you to get in touch and show your support to challenge this. To protect the future of our sport at grass roots level. We will be far stronger fighting this together as a body rather than individuals. I look forward to hearing from you in relation to this matter. Yours in Boxing Alastair Hayes Central Area Ali Hayes CSBA & Yorkshire
