Ladies and Gents Today, in Philadelphia I took a boat ride down the Schuylkill River on the ship called the Patriot and as we went into the vast expanse of the Delaware River the sun was setting and I noticed it. As I noticed the sun was setting the way that the blue grew dark and then turned red and as it went towards the sunset it turned orange cream something came across my mind for I has been praying to God for a word to give and this is what I was given. Psalms 150 “Praise ye the Lord, Praise God in His sanctuary: praise Him in the firmament of His power. Praise Him for His mighty act: praise Him according to His excellent greatness. Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet: praise Him with the psaltery harp. Praise Him with the timbrel and dance: praise Him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise Him upon the loud cymbals: praise Him upon the high sounding cymbals. Let everything thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye Lord.” Ladies and gents; there is something you need to know first of all; you can’t stop the praise of God. God is God; He is Lord and He is in control over all; and He is worthy to be praised. He has made this universe which is why it is called a uni verse; because it comes from one verse; it was when God said, “Let there be light.” He is worthy of worship and he is worthy of praise and He will be praised; whether it is by persecuted people who being killed in Egypt or Syria because they are Christians or any other person. God will be praised. This is important to understand because praise is not dependent on you. Some people walk into church and think they are doing God a favour by showing up in church as if the praise of God is dependant on them; no praise is not dependant on you; God will be praised anyway. But you should praise Him because you are alive because of Him so you do it out of a grateful heart. Listen to me, look at the sun rise; look at the sun set; and what do you see? You see the sky turn all different colours. At sunset the sky turns from dark blue, to light blue to an almost white and then to yellow, orange and then red as the light of the sun goes down over the horizon. That is worship; that is praise; every colour that God makes has a frequency of sound; so when the Lord lets the earth spin and the place on the earth where you live begins to turn from the light of the sun that He made on the 4th day of creation; you start to see colour; but what you don’t see is that all the colours that God made are not visible to your eyes; you can only see infrared to ultraviolet you can not see the colours of FM as in radio; but that is a colour; God made; you just can’t see it in this side of Heaven; you will but just not here. However every colour has a frequency of sound so when God makes a sunset; He isn’t just blending the colour so you can see it; but He is also making a symphony of sound that blends beyond what most can hear. Just like the text says; praise God; praise Him in the firmament of His greatness. Just like there is sound in outer space; there is sound in the sun rise and sun set; as a matter of fact God has commanded 4 angels to blow and control the start of the winds as they flow though the courses and currents of the air and this is important because in the atmosphere around the earth there are 7 layers; for atmosphere means firmament; firmament means the sphere which is literally over the earth; as a result it is in the 1st and 2nd level of this 1st heaven or atmosphere that the winds blew and bring clouds in the stratosphere or troposphere and as a result the clouds change the colour and the tone of the sound that the sunset and sun rise make. The reason why you need to know this is because God will be praised; the way the earth spins praises the Lord. Some of you who know something about the Holy bible should consider this; if the earth groans for it redemption which is why we have earthquakes and such then it is evident that the earth is capable of also makes sounds of praise to the Lord. “Praise ye the Lord, Praise God in His sanctuary: praise Him in the firmament of His power.” I got home from the boat trip and I sat in my room for a while and to my amazement I heard crickets making noise though my window. Nature serves God by what they do; every time the bird sings; every time the cricket dances; every time the rooster crows they praise God by doing exactly what God designed them to do; they don’t try to do differently from the way God has called them to live; but instead they do what God said. The Lord will be praised by nature “Let everything thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye Lord.” Here’s the question fro you and me; will we praise God like we should or will we be the only think in creation that stands out by not doing what we have been called to do? I suggest you praise the Lord. Listen to me ladies and gents; the praise we give the Lord is distinct; look at the text. “Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet: praise Him with the psaltery harp. Praise Him with the timbrel and dance: praise Him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise Him upon the loud cymbals: praise Him upon the high sounding cymbals.” Do you see why us worshipping God is so important; its not out of tradition; its not doing it because this is just the way we do it; worship is not about doing something because we automatically do it as a body function as nature does or automatic like the universe and the planet does; we worship with a free will so when you worship God it is with will and intent. Worship the Lord because He is worthy to be praised; do it out of a grateful heart; but to do that you have to humble yourself; you have to see He is worthy; you have to lay your pride aside. You want to worship in spirit and in truth; they know that He is a God of spirit and know the truth about yourself; know that you and I aren’t worthy to worship Him yet He has given us more grace than we deserve and as a result we are grateful; ever so grateful. Therefore as God created the world because He had the will to do it; since God took effort to make creation and wit it ourselves; we who are made in Him image should worship Him all the more; worship Him with a will to do so; a Let me also say this; to often Christians are so busy following the world that we live like the world and we don’t even know it. We think we are natural beings who know some things about God and spiritual matters are for the next life or on the back burner. NO! Christians you need to know this right now; we are spirituals beings who commune with a God who is spirit and truth; we are spirituals beings first and this natural world is neither our home nor our goal. We merely play by the rules in this physical world to live day by day but never lose sight that this is not who we are or who we function. Listen the world says they are secular but the very people who pushing for secularism the most have you ever noticed are pushing to find something spiritual without saying so? “, Praise God in His sanctuary.” That takes will. Put worth effort to praise Him because He showed effort for us. “Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet: praise Him with the psaltery harp. Praise Him with the timbrel and dance: praise Him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise Him upon the loud cymbals: praise Him upon the high sounding cymbals.” Praise the Lord Now, as you praise God this day there are things you need to know; about Heaven and this world we live in; let’s start with this world. Why is it that most R&B singers and legends started singing in church? Why is it that many actors started in church plays? If the church doesn’t matter why to politicians go there for votes? Listen to me; why are there so many movies that are about spiritual matters whether it is holy; history; or horrible? Think of the vampire stories. Think of the zombie stories. Think of the many spiritual connotations that we see; the world wants the power of the Holy Spirit of God but they don’t want God or the holiness He requires. They acknowledge that God has power but don’t want to serve Him. They talk about Welfare Reform; but never talk about how Welfare started in the Church to take care of widowed families and orphaned children. They talk about Healthcare but don’t talk about the Knights Hospitier which were Christian soldiers who took care of the poor and started the hospital movement. They talked about college and being a professor who gives lectures and the professors who are against God and the Bible never tell you that most colleges started as Christians Institutions. Temple University was a Baptist College; the list goes to almost every one. Saint Joseph’s was a Catholic College. LaSalle was Catholic as well. Harvard was Christian as well; the list goes on. Look at the history of some of our colleges. Listen to me; the world wants the power of Jesus; they want the power of Jesus name but they don’t want Jesus and to face the fact that they have to answer to that same Jesus Christ who is Lord and judge. And all the while you have Christians who serve God in church but never open their Bibles and act like God didn’t give them power; power to shake this world. No you who serve God and humbly go before Him have given power by that God to change this world every day you live. But Satan doesn’t fear you; evil doesn’t fear you if you don’t know what God has given you or if you don’t give the Lord the credit for it. The world want the power of Jesus name; without the worship and praise; is that you; if you know Jesus is the salvation of the world that should never be. If you don’t know Jesus as the salvation of the world and the world who can take your life and change it; then you can today by praying to Him an asking Him to take your life and change you for the better because He can do a better job with your life. Those who know Jesus is savior and who know about worshipping and praising Him now need to see things from the perspective of Heaven. This world spins; as it spins it slowly moves around the sun; it moves like a top once the string has been released. As the sun shine on the part of the world that faces it; the sounds of worship rise to the Lord and these sounds peel from the earth as the sun hits the new parts that are introduced to the light; as the world rotates into the light so does the volume of praise. Be one with the volume; and crank it up.
